Guaranteed Employment
Once your son or daughter passes Basic Training 
and their applicable military occupation training, they are guaranteed employment until the end of their initial contract, which lasts a minimum of 3 years. Many Canadian Forces members are offered contract renewals through to retirement provided that they have served conscientiously and have adhered to the Canadian Forces regulations. Promotions are awarded according to merit.
