The majority of the time, life as a Canadian Forces member is no different than civilian life. When your son or daughter is posted to a base in Canada, they will generally work a 40-hour work week, will own or rent their own house or apartment, and will have plenty of free time to engage in leisure activities with family and friends. Members of the Regular Forces receive 20 vacation days per year, which increases to 25 days per year after five years.

All Canadian Forces bases are equipped with numerous social and sporting facilities to ensure that your son or daughter stays active, healthy and entertained outside of work.
